For most Christians, the Holy Spirit is the third prosopon of the Holy Trinity – together with God the Father and God the Son – and He is the omnipotent God. He is seen by this majority as one of the people of the Triune God who revealed his holy name YHWH to his people in Israel, sent his eternally begotten Son Jesus to save them from divine fury and sent the Holy Spirit to sanctify and give life to his Church. The Triune God manifests itself as three “people” (Greek koiné: hypostasis) of a single divine substance (ancient Greek: ousia), called God.
Jesus is presented in the Gospels as the long-prophesied Messiah, who baptizes not with water, but as the “Holy Ghost” and with fire (Luke 3:16). Before the Passion, during the Last Supper, He promises to send from the Father another Paraclete into the world, the Holy Spirit, the “Spirit of Truth” (John 15:26), which, according to the Acts of the Apostles, appeared in the form of “tongues of fire “over the disciples, the apostles, during the event known as Pentecost, which marks the beginning of Jesus’ Church on earth (Acts 2: 1).
The understanding of the mystery of the Holy Trinity varies in the various Christian denominations. Some call themselves trinitarian because they share the majority point of view above, while the non-Trinitarians have a different understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit. Even among the Trinitarians, there are differences: while the Eastern Catholic Churches and the Orthodox Church claim that the Spirit proceeds only from the Father (“through the Son”), the Catholic Church maintains that the Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son, a doctrine that became known as Filioque and was once the subject of great controversy.

This article is about a holiday celebrating mothers and motherhood. For other uses, see Mother’s Day (disambiguation).
Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in spring. (e.g., April–May in the northern hemisphere, October in Argentina, but northern hemisphere spring, May, in Australia). It complements Father’s Day, a similar celebration honoring fathers.
The celebration of Mother’s Day began in the United States in the early 20th century; it is not related to the many celebrations of mothers and motherhood that have occurred throughout the world over thousands of years, such as the Greek cult to Cybele, the Roman festival of Hilaria, or the Christian Mothering Sunday celebration (originally a celebration of the mother church, not motherhood). Despite this, in some countries Mother’s Day has become synonymous with these older traditions.
The modern holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make “Mother’s Day” a recognized holiday in the United States. Although she was successful in 1914, she was already disappointed with its commercialization by the 1920s. Jarvis’ holiday was adopted by other countries and it is now celebrated all over the world. In this tradition, each person offers a gift, card, or remembrance toward their mothers, grandmothers, and/ or maternal figure on mother’s day.
Various observances honoring mothers existed in America during the 1870s and the 1880s, but these never had resonance beyond the local level. Jarvis never mentioned Julia Ward Howe’s attempts in the 1870s to establish a “Mother’s Day for Peace”, nor any connection to the Protestant school celebrations that included “Children’s Day” amongst others. Neither did she mention the traditional festival of Mothering Sunday. Jarvis always said that the creation was hers alone. For more information on previous attempts, see the “United States” section in this article.

Brave strong mother!
Not afraid of what lies ahead
Courageous mother, caring and loving
Mother you are the light of our life
You bring the warmth and joy
When we are afraid only think of one person …
When Mother saw you I thought to myself …
This will be my mother, my light and my refuge, my shelter and my sense of life
Because without you no one can come to the world
Mother is a special person among all people of the world
Mother’s joy, love, confidence and peace.

St. George (275 – 23 April 303) was, according to tradition, a priest and Roman soldier in the army of Emperor Diocletian, venerated as a Christian martyr. In hagiography, St. George is one of the most venerated saints in Catholicism (both in the Roman Catholic Church and in the Orthodox Church as well as in the Anglican Communion). He is also venerated in several cults of Afro-Brazilian religions, where he is syncretized in the form of Ogum. He is immortalized in the tale in which he kills the dragon and is also one of the fourteen auxiliary saints. Regarded as one of the most prominent military saints, his memory is celebrated on April 23 as well as on November 3, when, everywhere, he commemorates the rebuilding of the church dedicated to him in Lida (Israel), where his relics , erected at the behest of the Roman Emperor Constantine I.
It is the patron saint in several parts of the world: England, Portugal (secondary saint), Georgia, Catalonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Montenegro, Ethiopia, from the cities of London, Barcelona, Genoa, Reggio di Calabria, Ferrara, Freiburg in Brugge, Moscow and Beirut, unofficially, from the city of Rio de Janeiro (officially attributed to São Sebastião) and the city of São Jorge dos Ilhéus, as well as being a patron of the Boy Scouts, and the Brazilian Army Cavalry. There is a tradition that points to the year 303 as the year of his death. Although its history is based on legendary and apocryphal documents (Gelasian decree of the sixth century), the devotion to St. George has spread all over the world.
